Promotion Practice
When: Wednesday, May 27th, 2025
Aggies 1st Period
Tigers 2nd Period
Hornets 5th Period
Where: Toby Johnson Gym
Who: All 8th-grade promoting students
Promotion Tickets: All promoting 8th-grade students will receive 4 promotion tickets for the ceremony. These tickets will be distributed on Wednesday, May 27th at promotion practice. Each student will receive 4 tickets ONLY. The limit is based on space capacity. (* Any outstanding library fines or fees must be cleared to receive tickets.)
Toby Johnson 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
When: Thursday, May 28th, 2025
Aggies 8:30-9:30 am
Hornets 10:30-11:30 am
Tigers 1:00-2:00 pm
Where: Franklin High School Gym
Who: All 8th-grade promoting students
Dress: Appropriate dresses, dress shirts & slacks, suits, or other good school clothes. Nothing overly formal.

Promotion Directions:
- Do arrive early to allow time for parking, but not too early as there may be a ceremony right before yours.
- Do leave noise making & vision obstructing items at home (like noisemakers, air horns, and balloons). School will still be in session for Franklin High School students.
- Do dress nicely and take lots of pictures, but save the limos and tuxedos for prom.
- Do celebrate by sending special deliveries such as flowers, candy, balloons, gifts, etc. to your home, but please NO deliveries at school.
- Do ensure all individuals, regardless of age, have a ticket to attend the ceremony. (The limit is based on the capacity set by the Fire Marshall.)
After Promotion Check Out: You are welcome to check your student out for the remainder of the day of the ceremony and the following day. You may do so in advance by scanning the attached QR code and completing the form.

This letter contains important information regarding the activities planned to celebrate the end of 8th grade and promotion to high school for our 8th-grade students. Please review the information in this letter with your child so they know about the upcoming activities.
This letter contains important information regarding the activities planned to celebrate the end of 8th grade and promotion to high school for our 8th-grade students. Please review the information in this letter with your child so they know about the upcoming activities.
No Activity List: Students on the “No Activity List” will not be allowed to participate in the end of the year social activities (not including promotion and promotion practice.) Remain off of the no-activities list by being in class on time and meeting TJMS expectations by being safe, respectful, responsible, and kind.
8th Grade Promotion Dance
When: Friday, May 15th, 2026 6 PM -8 PM
Where: Toby Johnson MP Room & Gym
Who: All 8th-grade students who are not on the “No Activities List” and who purchase a dance ticket.
Cost: Ticket price TBD, tickets will be available for purchase 5/11 to 5/14. Student ID required for ticket purchase.
Dress: Semi-formal. Appropriate, neat school clothes or “dressy” dresses, suits, sports jackets, and ties (optional). No tuxedos or long formal gowns.
Late Arrival/Early Departure: Students will not be admitted into the dance late. All students must enter Robert’s Pass by 6:15 to enter the dance. No early departures will be allowed for this dance. Students must remain until the end of the dance at 8:00 PM. Students must be picked up promptly after the dance.

Where: Country Club Lanes
Who: All 8th-grade students who are not on the “No Activities List”.
